The “Now” Normal

The time is NOW for virtual counseling. Here we are in the second week of March 2020, staring down the inevitability of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Although there is only one reported case in Mississippi as of this moment, our neighboring states have launched into mitigation and containment mode. The World Health Organization (WHO) refers to the Coronavirus outbreak worldwide as a pandemic. Staying abreast of current and relevant information is alone a challenge. We are now being told it is only a matter of time before most places in our country will have to deal with the eventual spread of this deadly virus. What does this mean for our personal and professional spaces going forward? Keep your social distance!

Facts over fear

Facts about the virus over fear ought to be our watchwords. So, I offer you this…we are on the cusp of a “new” normal way of life. According to Public Health officials, Social Distancing is necessary.  The use of Social Distancing is more profound in times when it is necessary to slow or stop the spread of a highly contagious disease. We stand ready and rely upon local officials to describe what this means for a location, city, or community.  The Coronavirus will be a threat to people around the world for the foreseeable future. This matter is better defined as…” life as we knew it is different and distant.” Even if your local community is not dramatically impacted at this time, many others are. Our interdependence on others in the local and global community is illuminated because we have to reimagine how to connect with a limited physical connection.  Eliminating one’s proximity to other people is going to be a tough task. With an abundance of caution, I want to help you with…Keeping your distance!

Solution

We want to move with protecting ourselves and our families. Pandemic protocol for counseling and therapy for the Coronavirus has a readily available option. VIRTUAL COUNSELING! We are available to you on any computer or mobile device.  At the River Wellness, we are leading out in preparation for the “NOW†normal.  I hope that you are seriously considering your action plan to stay safe and add a virtual counseling session with us to your list. © Dr. Patricia R.
