Everyone will go through a loss at some point in life. No matter what the loss is – death, divorce, or loss of a job. The natural struggle of intense and painful emotions will be present. Even with the most intense emotional disruptions, the reality is you will deal with grief from lifelong learned experiences.

Whether it’s your own loss or watching someone else suffer the pain of grief. You may feel stuck in sorrow; not being able to escape feelings of sadness, emptiness, fear, or feel unable to move forward with your life. Grief counseling can help you learn how to recover from grief by working through your unique experiences and methods of dealing with loss. Coping after a loss may produce a wide variety of responses and become overwhelming quickly.

There are some strategies that can be used in order to manage grief reactions. Consider these: accepting how you feel, being patient with yourself, attending to your personal needs, and accepting help from others. A therapist can help you explore your emotions, work with you to develop coping strategies, help you manage your grief, and help others around you try to understand what you are going through.

If you or someone you know is experiencing grief or difficulty recovering from loss of any kind The River Wellness can help.
